Hostile Work Environment

1. Install or update

   Choose Install / Update, confirm the named publisher, and let Windows App Installer finish. No archive extraction, Rust toolchain, or separate runtime setup is required.

2. Choose a nickname

   Your installation keeps a pseudonymous identity per server, and remembers it.

3. Choose a session

   Start solo immediately, enter the public queue, create a closed group and share its numeric invite code, or join a colleague's code. Public and group tickets show their server-owned state and can be cancelled before seating.

4. Move and fight

   WASD follows the camera, the mouse aims and fires, Space jumps, and dodging has real recovery.

5. Check your phone

   An IT insider contacts you on Tab. TowerChat carries the story, Calls keeps anything spoken so you can re-read a missed reveal, and Tasks tracks the assignment.

6. Dress for the occasion

   I opens your scrollable inventory. Instanced weapons and equipment can carry deterministic movement, damage, health, fire-rate, cooldown, and critical affixes; both weapon slots remain visible there, and equipment changes work anywhere while your character is alive and action-ready.

7. Audit every closet

   Every floor has a loot closet with a combination safe. Find its highlighted note on an ordinary hostile, share the unlock with the party, then claim its server-owned mixed and affixed rewards.

8. Use the interface

   Personnel records are tabbed, Procedure slots can be reassigned in an elevator safe state, and vending stock supports both direct mouse purchase and keyboard controls.

9. Watch the wire

   The top-left status panel reports player health, transport ping, and rolling inbound and outbound payload rates. It also shows each player's server-measured total wire rate and calls out dropped snapshots or queued backlog, so the party can identify who is falling behind. Moving debris is authoritatively bounded, and snapshots use acknowledged baselines to omit unchanged world state before large payloads are compressed.

10. Practice, don't shop

    There is no skill tree to buy. Doing a thing well is what uncovers new potential.

11. Clear the floor

    Fight room to room, take an automatic Performance Review, then follow the complete logical route to the departure elevator. The breadcrumb now shows only your nearby next segment, stays static, and reuses its markers instead of rebuilding a party-wide trail every frame.

12. Control the lights

    Wall switches now turn authoritative room and hallway lights both on and off. Dark rooms stay genuinely dark until lit, and switching one off reduces current party visibility there.

13. Take the item you mean

    Point at stacked ground loot before pressing E to prefer that in-range item. The card tells you when the cursor target is beyond the server-owned pickup radius.

14. Survive the boss floor

    Stage in the waiting room, then face one of ten distinct executives in its own arena.

15. Expect a recovery plan

    A full-team or solo wipe restarts the current floor instead of destroying the run. Partial-party casualties return at the originating elevator while survivors continue.
